IST College is a versatile and multi-level educational institution recognized by the Greek Ministry of Education, with licenses as a College, a Vocational Training Institute and Center for Lifelong Learning. It has an excellent track record in educational events, an active and diverse community of distinguished professors, renowned professionals and entrepreneurs with vision, ambitious start – ups and enthusiastic students developed within it. IST in collaboration with reputable foreign universities offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study, flexible programs, Supported Distance Learning programs, two-year vocational training programs and lifelong learning programs. In the context of its operation and in accordance with the General Regulation of Personal Data (GDPR) and the applicable regulatory framework, the IST collects and processes, as Head of Processing, personal data that are communicated from you as active students, potential students, interested parties, trainees, , graduates, as well as its partners and suppliers. IST attaches due importance to the protection of your personal data and wants to inform you with this Privacy Statement about how it manages your personal data in accordance with applicable law.
What personal data can IST process:
Personal data includes any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“Data Subject”) whose identity can be ascertained, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier.
IST collects personal data that you (the Data Subjects) disclose to it each time you become interested or enroll in a program, seminar, diploma or other activity offered by IST. Relevant personal data include the following:
- identification details (name, father's name, date and place of birth, identity card or passport details, social security number),
- demographics (gender, nationality, marital status),
- contact details (postal address, landline or mobile number, e-mail address),
- financial data (such as tax clearance),
- data on special educational needs or health data
- information that you declare in the context of your participation in exhibitions, other actions, competitions
There are times when IST may collect your personal data from other sources, such as:
- information provided to IST by the Ministry of Education
- data disclosed to IST by the Ministry of Education
- data from Professional bodies or Associations.
Finally, IST uses “cookies” which are small text files that are stored on your computer while browsing the internet and collect standard web log information as well as information about the visitor’s behavior. Through the use of “cookies”, the IST can see your previous activity and if you have visited its website again.
There is no obligation to disclose your personal information to us, but in case you decide not to provide your information, IST will not be able to offer you its programs and services.
For what purposes can IST process your personal data?
IST processes only those personal data that are necessary for the purpose (es) that it collects them and uses them exclusively for that/those purposes (es).
IST processes your personal data for:
- completing the application / expression of interest regarding IST programs / services
- registration in IST programs / services / actions
- where required by the current regulatory and legislative framework, e.g. when stipulated by the instructions of the Ministry of Education
- to promote information material about new IST programmes / services, provided you have given your explicit consent. Please note that you can revoke your consent at any time, which will be valid for the future. In particular, after receiving the notice that you have withdrawn your consent, we will stop processing your data, unless there is some other legal basis that justifies the processing.
- when necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by IST College
- for participation in exams, certifications, competitions.
Recipients to whom IST may transfer your personal data:
IST does not share or transmit your personal data with third parties, unless required to do so for the purposes for which it collects them and / or if required or permitted by law. In any case, access to your personal data is allowed only to authorized persons who are required to have access, in order to be able to complete the purposes of their collection, use and processing, as disclosed in this Statement.
Potential recipients to whom the IST may transmit your personal data include:
- the collaborating Universities with IST, in which you enroll as students
- the Ministry of Education
- certification bodies
- In some cases, IST may share some of your personal data with specific collaborating companies or service providers in order to respond to your requests or to the natural or legal persons entrusted with the execution of the processing, which are contractually bound to protect your personal data in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework.
Period of keeping your personal data
IST keeps your personal data only for as long as it is absolutely necessary. In the context of providing its services or programs, IST keeps your personal data for at least five (5) years from your graduation and / or the completion of the study / program / seminar you have attended. We may keep your data for a longer period if required either by the current regulatory framework or for our legal purposes.
After the above retention period, the IST may corrupt, delete, encrypt or otherwise anonymize your personal data.
Your rights regarding the processing of your data
According to the current regulatory and legislative framework, you have the following rights:
- Find out if we hold your personal data and, if so, which ones and why we hold / use them.
- Request access to your personal data and receive a copy of your retained personal data.
- Request the correction of your personal data in case they are incomplete or inaccurate.
- Request the deletion of your personal data, when there is no reason to justify the keeping of such information.
- Revoke your consent at any time when we process your personal data for the purpose of promoting new programs / services.
- Oppose automated decision-making without human intervention, as in some cases of profiling
- Request a restriction on the further processing of your personal data.
- Request the transfer of your personal data to you or elsewhere in electronic and structured form.
If you wish, you can appeal to the Personal Data Protection Authority.
Amendments to this Statement
IST may from time to time make changes to the Statement, in whole or in part, at its sole discretion. Any modification herein will take effect as soon as the modified Statement is posted on our site.
