Climate change and its effects on the economy, society and the environment create the need for a new, sustainable way of organizing every level of our lives. The model of sustainable development offers the possibility of a different management of resources, in a way that ensures a better quality of life for all. That is why this issue is currently at the heart of political, economic and social action with typical examples of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals or the European Green Deal. Thus, the orientation of economic and wider productive activities towards sustainability becomes a key priority of modern institutions and companies.

In terms of the current business trend, companies will reap significant benefits in full alignment with the new values and priorities of society, by adopting ESG criteria Environmental, Social and Governance.

Objectives

The proposed seminar aims to familiarize public and private sector executives with the subject of sustainable development and its individual dimensions as well as with the relevant tools that are necessary for the decision-making, financing and management processes within a viable organization or business.

Lecturers

Mania Ziridi Spenzou combines studies and professional experience in the fields of psychology, education, business administration, global health and sustainability. Through a humanitarian mission to Tanzania, travel around the world to learn the best educational models and working with people from different countries, he has developed a keen interest in inspiring children, young people, parents and educators on important topics. Issues such as sustainability and the goals of sustainable development, humanitarian aid, peace education, climate change, human rights, values, life skills, emotional intelligence are some of the issues that concern her. Positive energy and compassion are the driving force behind the empowerment of young and adult learners to become catalysts for change through the design and implementation of educational programs, projects, seminars and textbooks. He has trained hundreds of people in the hope of multiplying good deeds for a sustainable and peaceful world.

Dr. Georgina Spyres is the Director of Carbon Busters in Greece and the Head of Education and Research at the Attica Zoological Park. She has worked as a researcher on Chemical Oceanography and specializes in training on the effects of climate change. Since 2002 she has been teaching environmental sciences through formal and non-formal education at various ages, from preschoolers to students, for example, as a University Professor at the City University of New York. He is a member of the Communication and Education Committee of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, which established the Red List of Threatened Species, of the International Zoo Educators Association, and a member of the Education Committee of the European Association of Zoo and Aquaria. Her love for Nature began when she was a child and since then she has been constantly working to connect those around her with the natural beauty of our planet and inspire them to preserve it.

Dr. Ntaikou I. Despina, PhD, MSc, MPhil, CEFA

Dr. Daikou I. Despina is a Bank Executive, Doctor of Honor from the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Accounting and Finance of the School of Business Administration of the Athens University of Economics and Business (ASOEE). She holds two postgraduate degrees, in “Finance and Banking for Executives” (ASOEE) and in “Applied Finance” (EKPA). In addition, she has 19 years of specialized professional experience in three Greek systemic banks. She is certified in the Development and Management of Econometric Forecasting Models, through the specialized software of EViews 11 and Stata, by the International Monetary Fund and in Market Analysis by the Hellenic Association of Certified Market Analysts (EEPAMA).

Her many years of teaching experience in Greek public universities, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, focuses on Finance, Banking, Risk Management, Investment Project Management, etc. She is a Reviewer in Journals as she has scientific publications in prestigious journals. in the field of Finance and Banking. In addition, she is responsible for scientific supervision and rendering of banking and risk management terms in scientific manuals. She has participated in seven scientific conferences in Athens and London (London School of Economics, LSE) where she has presented her doctoral research in Finance and Banking.

John Exarchos is a Managing Director, JE Consulting Group and has over 30 years of experience in the services, manufacturing and industry sectors in Europe and the USA.

With studies in Management and Economics (BSc Management- State University Of New York, BA Economics – Deree College & International MBA – European University) his current role is ESG Special Advisor for Greek institutions & companies.
